Position: IT Support Technician
The Role
As a NorthSky IT Support Technician, you'll be on the front line helping our clients stay productive and secure. In this role, you’ll answer calls, resolve tickets, and handle triage and escalations—coordinating with the team to make sure issues get solved quickly and clients get what they need.
We're looking for someone who's thoughtful, detail-oriented, and communicates clearly in ways that respects and empowers others. You'll enjoy working independently while also recognizing when collaboration brings out the best solutions. Experience in Managed IT, helpdesk support, system administration, or customer service is valuable—but what matters most is empathy, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a genuine passion for making technology work for people.
This role will also provide exposure to a wide range of technical and operational areas, creating opportunities for rapid learning and advancement into higher-level roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line support for client users and systems, including Microsoft 365, Windows desktops and applications, networks, and basic cloud resource setup.
- Follow established procedures to complete advanced tasks, while offering feedback to improve protocols and processes.
- Install, support, and train users on common applications such as Outlook, Acrobat, Word, Excel, Edge, Chrome, Teams, and Zoom.
- Guide users on security tools and best practices, including multi-factor authentication, password management, and identifying malicious emails.
- Respond to inbound calls, emails, and tickets from clients—ensuring timely acknowledgement, resolution, and coordinating escalation when necessary.
- Deliver and set up equipment for clients in the metro area, such as new desktops and monitors for incoming hires.
- Review alerts and reports from internal management tools, help maintain accurate records of client systems.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and empathetically.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple requests at once.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative, while knowing when to escalate.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in technology.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for on-site client work.

- Ability to safely lift and manipulate at least 50lbs.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Two or more years experience working in a professional office or a technology services environment.
- Any familiarity with the following is a plus:
- Experience with ticketing systems / ITSM / Project Management tools.
- Remote monitoring and management (RMM) systems.
- Scripting / development at any level.
- Developing user guides, training, and documentation (written or video).
- Developing and maintaining internal protocols, procedures, and documentation.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Azure AD / Entra ID, Intune.
- You may be known by friends and family as the "go-to tech person."

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range $40,000-$50,000
