Beware COVID-19 / Coronavirus Scams

With the high volume of legitimate urgent emails regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, please think before you click!

It is a disgusting practice, but unfortunately, like clockwork, when there is a large scale tragedy you can count on a flood of phishing and scam attempts trying to take advantage of the circumstances.

While we haven't seen a sharp uptick yet, we fully expect that an increase in phishing and fraud attempts related to the coronavirus.

We encourage all of our clients to be vigilant! Please make extra effort to follow the usual best practices to protect against phishing and fraud.

When you do donate, verify that you are donating to a known and validated charity, medical foundation, or relief organization. The FTC also has information with recommended steps to take before giving:

When donating to a valid organization, be sure to only utilize official means as provided by the organization. Scammers will impersonate organizations like the Red Cross in an attempt to defraud.
